Pangyo Research Center opens to enter the global bio-diagnostic equipment market

Vieworks, a leading imaging solution provider, announced on the 14th that it will build a full lineup of bio-diagnostic equipment and enter the global bio industry in earnest with the opening of its Pangyo Research Center.

Vieworks Pangyo Research Center will continue to develop Raman-based on-site diagnostic equipment through joint research with Modern Value Ltd., a company in which Vieworks participated in last year.

Modern Value has a unique technology to amplify Raman signals, and Vieworks has technology related to camera modules optimized for gene amplification (PCR) systems, which are expected to have synergistic effects on product development and commercialization. In addition, Vieworks will continue to develop slide scanners, a digital pathology diagnostic equipment that has relied on foreign products.

Vieworks is already recognized for its top-notch technology in the field of medical image processing and analysis. Therefore, through the opening of the Pangyo Research Center and collaboration with Modern Value, we plan to enter the field diagnosis and in vitro diagnosis equipment in earnest, build a full lineup of internal and external diagnostic equipment, and accelerate our entry into the global bio diagnostic equipment market.

The opening ceremony was attended by CEO Hoo Shik Kim, and employees of Vieworks, and executives and employees of Modern Value, which is collaborating to develop diagnostic equipment, to discuss the direction of future joint R&D. Professor Do-Kyung Kim, an expert in in vitro diagnostic technology evaluation, was invited to give a seminar on in vitro diagnostic technology trends.

"We expect the in vitro diagnostic equipment business to be an important growth engine for Vieworks in the future and are increasing our investment," said Hoo Shik Kim, CEO of Vieworks.

Meanwhile, the Raman-based on-site diagnostic equipment that Vieworks is jointly researching and developing with Modern Value is a technology that can reliably detect and quantify ultra-fine signals by compensating for the shortcomings of existing surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).

As a result, it dramatically improves diagnostic accuracy compared to diagnostic equipment using conventional SERS, enabling customized and targeted treatment, and enables diagnostic results to be obtained immediately after capturing Raman signals. The development of this Raman-based on-site inspection system is expected to be the world's first in this field.

Rights of Users and Their Legal Representatives and How to Exercise the Rights A user and his/her legal representative are entitled to exercise their rights to make requests to view, correct, delete, cease processing the registered data on his/her personal information at any time. Security Measures for Protecting Personal Information To protect personal information against loss, theft, leakage, falsification, and damage during the handling personal information as per the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company takes security measures as follows:

Minimization and Training of Personal Information Handling Employees The Company designates a number of employees for handling personal information and taking control measures and keeps that number to a minimum. 3. Establishment and Execution of Internal Management Plan The Company establishes and executes the internal management plan for securing personal information processing. 4. Technical Measures against Hacking, etc. The Company regularly updates and inspects security software to prevent leakage of or damage to personal information by hacking or viruses.
